Purchases in euros

The value of public procurement varies from year to year. Examine how the purchases are divided between central government, municipalities and parishes. Also check the euro amounts spent by your municipality on the purchases of goods and services each year.

Information on the total volume of goods and services purchased by public procurement organisations has been produced for the report. The figures are based on the accounting data. The publication schedule is tied to the reporting schedule of the municipalities’ and wellbeing services counties’ financial information service.

You can, for example, examine the value of purchases by individual organisations. The report is based on quarterly reporting by municipalities and joint municipal authorities, State Accounts and separate data supplied by parishes. The information on the parishes of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of Finland has been retrieved from the kirkontilastot.fi service. The information supplied by municipalities and joint municipal authorities also includes purchases from other municipalities and joint municipal authorities.

The reports contain a function allowing you to view the purchases with or without the breakdown of local government investments. In the standard view, investments are included in the data submitted by municipalities and wellbeing services counties. When you click the button ‘View purchases without local government investment expenditure’, investment expenditure is filtered from the data. In the past, the investments of municipalities and wellbeing services counties were not included in the ‘Value of procurement’ reports.

The investments of municipalities and wellbeing services counties consist of several different areas such as construction and real estate investments as well as transport and infrastructure investments.

These investments are already included in the current central government data.
